I just replaced the blower on my 87 ranger it has a hose that connects to the motor from the blower housing the replacement isnt exactly the same it has an extra hole in it and lets air out.The air delivery inside is very low i removed the hose plugged the hole and it is back to normal does anyone know why it is set up this way and will it last without it. I did cover both holes to keep dirt and water out thanks, Mark

I think that hose is to help cool the motor since it is enclosed. Might end up with it overheating and burning out faster than normal.

Thanks I kinda thought that too I just cant imagine it getting that hot though but we'll see
