blower does not work where should i start looking for the problem im not a apt micanic all fuses are good as far as i can tell could it be the switch unit in the dsh?any elp on tis subject apresheated :icon_confused:

Check fuse #2 under the hood first.

Blower is two wires, power and ground.

Run a wire from each battery post to the blower motor connector, see if the blower runs (this will be High speed). Polarity doesn't matter, blower will simply run forward or backward.

If that works, blower is good. Replace the resistor block, located directly below and next to that blower. Be careful getting the connector off, they like to BAKE themselves on. Pry gently.

Easy DIY project. I suggest you remove (or just remove the mounting bolts) the WS Washer and Radiator overflow containers to remove the blower, if necessary to get to the resistor block.

Usual causes of blower not working

1)fuse
2)corroded contacts at connector to resistor block.
3) Resistor block
4)blower itself
5)Blower relay

Typically if the resistor block is "bad" it'll fail to run at one particular speed.
OR it'll only run on it's maximum speed.

His runs "intermittently".

that kinda eliminates the fuse.

My bet is either a blower motor at the end of it's service life.
the commutator in the motor develops "Dead spots"
because the (not user replaceable) brushes have worn out.

OR a single point bad connection at the resistor block.

relay is distantly possible (burned contacts)

I keep a blower motor plug spliced to a 5foot foot length of wire with two
clamps (like those used on small battery chargers) for testing blower motors.
If the motor runs then you test other things.
