block plate

Does anybody know if the earlier ranger 83/84 had the block plate between the motor and tranny? I need to know if I need this or not. I'm not sure if block plate is correct name but its the aluminum ring/plate between motor and tranny.

maybe 1/32 or 1/16 I really don't know.

I know my '86 turbo engine had one and my '89 ranger engine had one, don't know about the older ones

yes they all have it.. it also helps alingn the starter
