Just blew my torque converter out in my automatic 90 ranger XLT. Slightly accelerated from a stop light and it made a loud whining noise and then a pop. I haven't done much with trannies and don't have enough experience to swap. I got it towed to a mechanic shop where they price checked me on a brand new tranny + labor at around $3,200. My warranty covers $3,000 and I'll have to pay the rest out of pocket. Is this price fair? They aren't screwing me over, are they?
