Yet another Ford Blend Door thread, sorry. :icon_bounceblue: Hopefully this one is specific enough to be a useful contribution to the problem.

Getting ready to dig into mine - probably gonna block it "hot" for now, then do a real fix when there are more digits on the thermometer.

I've searched but haven't found a definitive answer: Which way is "hot" - with the door toward the front of the truck, or to the back?

The threads I've found say "... blocked it closed" or "... blocked it open", and are vague about absolute position. Mine's knackered, so I need to know, in a non-ambiguous way, what position to block the door to get heat.

Turn the temp blend door counter clockwise for heat, clockwise for cold.

Er, thanks, but clockwise from the top, or clockwise from the bottom? See there's that "relative direction" thing again.

Ranger Blend Door - forward is hot

Okay, I finally got a chance to figure it out, figured I would post the answer here.
If the blend door on a '97 Ranger is Forward, swung toward the front of the truck, that's "hot".

I'll post my "pin it in place" quick-fix in a separate post.
