Bleeding This Damn Clutch.

If the fitting popped out of the slave and the line is still intact then you shouldn't have a hard time bleeding it when you get it back together. It should stay bled from the master cylinder down to the fitting on the end of the line because it has a valve in it that shuts when you disconnect it and bleeding just the slave is cake. What I would worry about is WHY it popped out.
I've NEVER been able to snap the line back in and have it be bled, air always gets in. It probably popped out because it's a cheap ass salve, next time it happens I'll go buy the most expensive fucker I can, I'm so tired of these things.

I believe that the earlier systems had lines from the clutch master to slave with a slightly smaller diameter on the fitting that snaps into the slave cylinder. The later lines had a gold anodized fitting and the earlier ones had a slightly smaller diameter black fitting. This would explain the popping out. It's possible you have this if you put a later 4.0L engine with a later slave into an 88 Ranger and used the earlier existing line. Worth checking out.

Yes they slave/line/master all changed in like 92 I think. I'm using a slave for my FM146 which is the same part number as the early M5OD slaves so my existing line/master would work.

Fucking christ. I was driving to my buddies house, shifting into second I push the clutch, halfway down then BAM straight to the floor, fucking line popped out of the slave! After driving a fucking week and getting all the air out now I have to start all over again. These hydraulic clutches are going to make me snap and kill people someday.

Now that's pretty funny.....

Pump the peddle very slightly ,just till u feel pressure, ten to fifteen times with the bleeder closed. Have someone open it or prop a stick , pipe or whatever u can find against the pedal and open the bleed screw. Do this a few times , should be good. Worked for me and my mc and line were dry.
