Black truck white interior?

Well it is not purely for thermal insulation. I want it to be really, really quiet. I'm getting thicker deadener to go under the headliner, and then Dynamat Extreme (or maybe another brand) for all the door panels, under the carpet, etc.

EDIT : What kind of stuff can you do with a custom headliner? Like, if I get the ABS and just use a heat gun to mold it.... custom overhead consoles? Overhead switches for offroad lights? I think this might be the cheapest way to do it, while also being able to do some really cool stuff...

I think the BII had an overhead console with the 4 wd selector in it...the wires ran down the A pillar...you can put in all kinds of things...if you're so inclined...like clocks, compasses, ejection seat buttons...lol

I say do it, black/white. Take lots of pics.

I need an oil slick button, would that fit in there?

no no no no no... ejection seat buttons have to be down low, otherwise you hit your hand on the fixed portion of the roof on your way out of the truck... unless it's for someone else's seat, in which case it doesn't matter

It would be for the nattering navigator...:)

what would be? damnit mark, make sense for the drunk guy!

Hmmmm. Good ideas. Going to go for a manual transfer case, I don't see how I could put the shifter for that in the ceiling though! Lmao.

I think the black interior with white accents will go really well. Keep it subtle and keep it simple.

As far as headliner goes, I'm looking at ACME ABS Custom molded headliners possibly... They're pricy at 310 bucks but if its custom I could also have them include a whole bunch of things into it.

Interior styling question: The vinyl/carpet spray paint is like, an aerosol dye right? So it soaks into the material and dyes it instead of normal spraypaint that creates a layer on top? I don't want to start doing my panels and dash and then have it peeling off...

Are you sober yet???? lol

Why not? That would be different...but I meant the push button type...of course...lol

As for your last question...not sure...

My door panels are vinyl and are cracking and flaking...I wanted to do some door panels like someone did on here a while ago...some kind of plastic that is fairly pliable and could easily be painted...as much as I like the "feel" of cloth door panels they are not practical for a size 12 muddy boot...

I could cover mine with some material that is more durable than the vinyl but not sure if I want to go that route due to wear and tear...whatever you you decide on keep us posted...always good to see ideas from others...I will give you credit in my sig if I copy...that's worth a few rep points...lol

For something porous, use a due, if it's non porous, or almost non porous (dashboard, vinyl door panels) use a paint

Yes I'm sober now! It's 1in the morning

As for the manual tc on the ceiling, talk to gwaii, he can fab you something up!

Sent from somewhere naughty!

My old jeep xj had an oil slick button.

On the floorboard, just to the right of the brake pedal, just left of the transmission tunnel. Skinny lever that also made vroom noises in addition to the oil slick, steam show, and other schnazzy features.
