I just had my mechanic put a new electric choke on my B II. It now starts fine in cold weather, runs good, but now uses gas like CRAZY! I also put on new tires: 265.75R15's. I'm thinking maybe the carb needs adjusting, and that the tire size couldn't make that much difference in mileage? Can an messed up carb cause the gas consumtion to go way up?
Thanks.

Yes!

Try hooking up a vacuum gauage to the intake somewhere, with engine hot and idling, adjust your carb idle richness needle valves.Turn one at a time inward until engine bogs, then slowly turn out until highest lean vacuum reading is obtained.Repeat for the other needle vavle, these are on front bottom of carb.

The choke may be set wrong as well, maybe not enough air through the butterflys.Hard to say without gazing our eyes on it.
