Biggest Ranger In Jersey???

This build is of epic proportions. I mean this thing is retarded. I am definitely going to watch this thread.

Only problem with a diesel is that it is very low revving. Once you hit the 1st deep mudhole you wont be able to make that cummins or any diesel for that matter wind up and sling some mud like a gas jobby. Just my .02$

Sure you can, use a higher gear. I wheeled a few diesels in my day.

Actually most diesels have the exact opposite problem from what I have seen. Once they hit the first mudhole they lay into and about the time they start pourin on the coal they break the tires loose. They dont rev like a gasser b/c they dont need to makin 500lbft of torque with a redline around 3500rpm is quite a good number for wheel although it takes skill to keep the power to the ground.

Ha. You have doubts in a 440? I had a 95 S10 with a 383 stroker. I got outrun on a 1/4 mile dragstrip by a STATION WAGON with a 440. N/A too!

Anyway, that things going to be sweet no matter what you stick in it!

mopar 440's are fast *when they run* unfortunatly, they dont do that too often. cheap weak ass low quality bottom ends. ive been through enough of them over the years. just another thing contributing to my username lol

but i absoloutley agree, that things gonna be insane reguardless of whats in it!

Cylinders In-Line 6
Bore/Stroke 4.33 x 5.00 (110mm x 127mm)
Displacement 7.2 L (441 cu in)
Weight 1425 lb (647 kg)
Horsepower 190 to 300 @ 2500/2400 rpm
Torque 520-860 lb-ft @ 1440 rpm

now they're making them with up to 360hp and 925ft.lbs of torque!

but like you said, weight is an issue.

but hell ill deal with the weight if I can get one cheap but what ive seen so far is 20,000 and up price tags do you know something I dont like where to look for one I only saw dealers that had them USED for that price

Call Roxbury Auto Wreckers. They're in north of you in Morris County. And they have lots of equipment and parts. I do know they have about 8 brand new v8 military-spec Detroits, the ones with twin turbos and a 8-71 blower. I don't know how the pricing on the engines is, but they'll sell a set of 2.5ton Rocks for $1100.:icon_thumby:

thanks I just checked them out thats one heavy motor rear mount would be the only option but 990 ft/lbs at 1400rpm is sick Im calling for prices tomorrow, do you know about trannys for these

wow,i just went through an read the entire thread, my hat is off to you sir. i could only imagine if i had the kind of fabrication skills you have. great build!

Looking forward to seeing what motor you pick man.

I just found this thread and all I can say is WOW! Sicikest Ranger build I've EVER seen man.. Keep up the good work! We're all waiting on more updates..

It's awesome you can get your boys involved too. Something they'll never forget, and more than likely none of their friends have a dad that's building a monster truck.. They got bragging rights indeed... :icon_thumby:

Too cool!
