Crutchfield says my JL Audio components will not fit in the doors but I knew they would. Keep in mind this is all done on a tight budget, the equipment I have aquired over time now and this is the 4th vehicle I am putting them in.

I will post more pics with it installed after I get the back window installed.

Mids and highs are powered by a JL Audio e4300 amp, and the 12's by a Hifonics Brutus Bxi1206d and sound generated by a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X692

your box size changes how your subs sound. the smaller the box the more puncher the subs. it will be ok if he has the balls to bush them.

The box is 3.85 cubic ft. the specs only call for 2.5. These are w3's and yes the amp has plenty of balls, it was pushing 4 of them. Now only has to handle to and push 600 watts rms to each. I love the mids and highs, I didnt like the price for them but they sound awsome. I am gonna run them this time with an electronic cross over before the amp instead of thru the passive cross over that they come with to see if it makes any difference besides just making more use of my 4 channel amp. I don't have any upgrades for the rear speakers yet so I wont be running any for the time being.

thats my bad i didnt notice the surounding, the little number looked like a 7 to me not a 3...my bad.

Its all good, I wish they were 6 or 7's lol. I don't have that kind of money to spend though. Maybe one day, a man has to have a dream right? :headbang:
I was working on my amp rack today, I think its gonna turn out pretty nice. I plan to put it all in Saturday. I will get some pics of it finished and post them. I would like to know what ya'll think of it. As far as the mids and highs, they do sound awsome but if you dont mind it not being all JL look into some MB Quarts, I got my girlfriends son a component set for Christmas off ebay for 57 bucks brand new and they sound just as good as mine. And a hell of alot cheaper.

nice setup, i like the tweeters location, thats what i had in mind

I don't have components in mine yet, but I have JL audio all around it sounds great. I have 6.5's in the doors and 5x7 in the rear. 5x7's in the rear give off more mid base than you would think. I'm putting some dynamat door kits front and rear in soon. should make them sound better yet.

crutchfield says they dont fit because its not a plug and play deal. they said my infinity kappa 60.7cs components wouldnt fit. so i emailed them to see why. they told me that there wasnt enough clearance between the door panel and the door. that the speaker surround would hit the door.

JL does make a 5x7 component set if you didn't want to make 6.5's work. Not sure what other companies make them. I was looking at a set at sonicelectronics.com

Sorry it took so long, been trying to get some good pics but my seats wont let me. Got a set of buckets from a 4 door Suzuki and they dont tilt forward enuff to get a decent pic but here are a few anyways.

I was looking at those Hifonics amps on Ebay recently. They seem very inexpensive as compared to the Infinity Kappa 5 on the top of my list. What do you folks know and/or say about the Hifonics?

where did you mount the crossover for front door components. I just installed my amp & sub last night and I'm waiting for the front components to show up.
