Has anyone ever put a Big Block in a 1987 Ranger. I just bought a 6.1l engine and drivetrain. I'm going to put it in the truck as soon as I can. If anyone has any helpful hints I would appreciate all I can get.....

i have see it done, i dont know what was involved to do it, but im guessing a big thing is adding strength to the frame.

there was a guy on here that did that ..not to sure put im guessing the name would be under BigBlockRanger

theres a youtube vid of a 429 ranger. thats proves it can be done, but im guessing that theres a mountain of fabrication involved. is that 6.1 a 4 valve? its gonna be a tight fit. my uncle has a 71 torino with the 428 cj in it, and he literally has to take the rear engine mounts off, not loose, OFF and jack up the engine to change the number 4 and 8 plugs. and that car was designed for a big block. so there are things you need to think about. good luck to you, and please remember 2 things, be safe and post pics of the build
