I am looking at new tires for my 2005 Edge 3.0L. I was thinking 32 inch General AT^2 or BFG All Terrain T/A KO's. Can I get some reviews from some people who really use these tires. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

The BFG A/T's are the best truck tire you can buy. People will say "Oh well too many people have them," and you know why? It is because they are the best A/T on the market.

I friend of mine had those generals and they didn't make it pat 18K miles

go to www.tirerack.com. You can can look at specs, pricing and read hundreds of first-hand reports on both the BFG AT and general grabber at2

i had a friend with the bgf's and he said the treads blocks are too hard in the snow. ive personally never had em but I have the generals on my 03 and love them. its not worth the extra 20 or 30 bucks a tire to get the bfgs. the generals have taken me off road many times but have been excellent on the road as well. they also clean very well in mud and snow. same tread pattern on both tires so why pay more.

So is the wet traction on the BFG All Terrains really as bad as some of the reviews I have read make it out to be?:icon_confused:

I've got the BFGs. I've gotten about 50,000 on a heavy explorer and they're just about gone.

While dramatically better than the goodyears they replaced, I wouldn't call them the best AT I've ever driven on. My biggest annoyance is the very "square" shoulder. While great at biting soft terrain off-road, they tend to really suck you into whatever snow they hit. For instance, while driving down a somewhat clear road, if the passenger tires drift to an area where there is snow on the pavement, you have to correct really hard to avoid getting sucked in. Now all tires do this to an extent, but this tread pattern is the worst I've tried.

As far wet traction, they're not perfect, but as good as or better than a lot of tires out there.

Other than that I have no real complaints and think they're great tires off road. I just don't like them much in the snow.

grabbers are less than the BFGs? wow, i went to a local plae to check prices and the grabbers were $45 more then the BFGs, i've never tried either, but they basically look the same to me haha

thats wierd, someone else here said they were more expensive too. maybe these local places are jacking up the price because its winter. i got mine from a local place in the u.p. but that was during the summer.

i just looked at tirerack and the bfgs were $197 and grabbers $116. holy wah!

The BFG's are awesome in the rain and deep snow. When I had my '97 Ranger, we got 30" of snow and I went places with them that hadn't been plowed yet.

I personally haven't tried either...they look almost identical IMO. I'm running Firestone Destination AT's on my truck at the moment and love them, no issues in wet/snowy/icy conditions whatsoever, handle almost like a snow tire. The prices on the AT2's have crept up a bit from what I've seen over the last 6-9 months. They were actually my first choice, until the price for the size I wanted shot up about $15 overnight. Got the Firestones instead and haven't looked back...
