91 3.0 straight drive he wants more bottom end power cheap, first vehicle

New gears are about the only thing that would make any difference but they are not cheap, especially if it's 4 wheel drive.

Power to weight ratio

Add more power or reduce the weight

Yes, 4.10 rear axle will help alot and a Manual transmission
The 3.0l Vulcan was designed as a high RPMs engine
Most engines have best torque/power at 2,500-2,800rpm
3.0l Vulcan has that at 3,500-3,800rpm

So RPMs need to be HIGH right off the bat to get any power at all, its the DESIGN

You need to "drive it like a rented mule", doesn't hurt it, its what it was designed to do

If you drove around another engine and didn't go above 2,400rpm you would think it was under-powered for sure
Yet people drive around the 3.0l without going above 3,400rpm, and say its under-powered, DUH
Know your engine, read its specs

You're using the wrong fuel!

Add wings?

B-17 wings if you can get them, sturdy, good aerodynamics, hard to come be these days though.

Maybe convert to Flex-Fuel (heads + 'puter + $700 sensor + soft lines + ??...) and run E85?... been running straight E85 in my '99 V-VIN lately and yeah, she really torques-up above 3,800 RPM... gotta double-clutch to give the synchros a break... kinda hard to hear the stereo though...

The truck IS the stereo.

Don't forget the top-turret, with twin .50s, to keep the F-150s from gittin' too uppity! :devilish:

Here's a drop-in model I found in the LMC catalog... your pursuing enemies will slip and fall on all the links and empty brass littering the ground...
