better head

I've got a 92 model Ranger with a stock 2.3. I understand the head is very restrictive on the intake. I want to do a port and polish this winter. I want to get a salvage head to work while still driving the truck. Is there a better head,different year, cam rockers,etc. to rework for this project than the original that will bolt right on.

Some people prefer the single plug heads used in the late 80's on the mustangs. Others would say stick with what you have. The dual plug intake runner is funky, but there is alot of material that can be removed, especially at the valve guide. Here is a link you may find interesting:
