So I am nearing the end of my body work and ready to put my Bronco II in primer. I want to put the vehicle in primer because I am changing the color from darker blue to silver and I dont want it to bleed through.

I figured now is a good time to get a primer, base, and clear all compatible with eachother. I would like recommendations as to what paint to go with. I dont want to spend a ton of money because it's not a show car, but I do want to give it a somewhat presentable two stage paint job using Silver Ford 1G. What are some of the best paints to choose from in terms of bang for the buck?

I used PPG paint when I painted my ranger about 10 years ago. It held up great. I also used PPG epoxy primer on it and really like it. PPG paint is expensive but it is worth it for a vehicle you plan to keep. jmo

I ended up using a Matrix system.. Basically I put the truck in a sealer primer after doing the body work... then the base coat was a ford 1G from Napa auto parts.. and Matrix OEM clear... turned out really good and was easy to use..
