Best Mud tire for 92 ranger

I've been running 36" tsl's and love them in the mud and the street. They are a loud tire and sure turns heads. Not to bad in the rain, and don't hydroplain, but just can't get on the throttle to hard or else. I'm going to get another set for sure. They were given to me at half life and put around 8000 k since then and still have quite abit of tread left.:icon_cheers:

I would have concerns about a ranger being able to spin a bogger enough to clear well in heavy mud. I would recomend a more traditional MT style tire like the Goodyear MT/R. I am biased because I have run this tire through some gnarly stuff!!

Also, I have seen Pitbull Rockers do well in almost all condiitons. They have large, multidirecitonal, stepped lugs that perform really well.

The old standard is the TSL, which you can't really complain about either. The LTB is a great looking tire, though I've heard they don't air down too well.

Tornbirds are the way to go. They wear great And theyare Great off-road. They also look the colest out of any tire out there.

We call those thorn turds, my buddy had a set of 35's on an 86 chev, and they left alot to be desired in the mud, for a truck built specifically for bogging.

Thornbirds are the worst offroad tire ever. They are terrible in any real life situation, but they wear great when stored. They also look like a monkey on LSD designed the tread pattern.

Fixed it for ya :icon_thumby:

I Think I Will Go With A 33x12.5 Tsl 3 Of My Buddys Have Them And They Love Them The Only Bad Thing Is They're On Yotas Not Rangers.

big o tire carries a tire called nankang mudstar m/t i got my 33s for 150 a piece they look just like the buckshots just cheaper. same tread they do awesome

Im running a mud brute made by remington. They are supposed to be made by bfg. I know its a harder compound tire and they havent yet failed me. I think they go pretty good and my dad had some on his f150 and he got almost 50000 out of them. Nice thing is they ride good unlike a tsl.

Firestone Destination MT's are absolutely kick-ass mud tires that are also well-behaved on the street. I've also heard good things about Hankook Dynapro MT's and Kumho MT KL71's, both have very aggressive tread patterns but still ride well on the pavement. Of course, Toyo MT's are at the top of the food chain of street-friendly mud tires, but they cost an arm and a leg, too.

I've always used Firestone/Bridgestone tires with good results, so I guess I'm a little biased. I wish Bridgestone never discontinued their Dueler MT's, they were awesome.

Thornbirds are terrible. They LOOK like they'd be awesome, but in real life they just don't cut it. I don't know why they suck so bad, but they do.

TSL Boggers are the best mud tire there is. They also do fairly well on rocks. But they have some drawbacks: pricey, noisy, like to dig in and break shafts.

one word Thornturd

i'd go with the trxus MT's. Im running bfg m/t km's though

I am putting a second hand set of TrXus M/T's in 33 on my Ranger in the next few days....:yahoo:
