Best Mud tire for 92 ranger

They get pretty loud on the road, so that's something to think about. Just rotate them often, and it will help. They are a great tire in the mud, but I never really did like them as much as some of the other options in the same price range. Others may disagree. That's just my opinion.

if you want some good cheap mud grips id go with some 33'' dunlop mud rovers. they do good in the mud and on the street and wear good.

Im new to wheelin and i dont know what tires to get i have a 92 ranger 2.9 with 3'' suspension lift and 2'' body and was wondering what tires to get and how big?

Welcome to the site, where you from?

keep in mind that you are going to have to change out your tranny gear for the right speedo reading and you also might have to regear the rear end to work with the tires.

Tornbirds are the way to go. They wear great And theyare Great off-road. They also look the colest out of any tire out there.

i havent heard very many good things about the thornbirds. everyone usually says they are more of a show tire and dont grip that well in mud and do even worse in rain.

+1

The reviews I've heard praising the tire mostly were from people that attacked them with a siping knife (or angle grinder) to cut the heck out of the tires.... or from people who put 5 gallons of armor-all on them when they took their truck to the local truck show...

Or the one person who found that they made some wicked nice planters for his front yard....

We use Interco tires ourselves. With that being said, we really wonder what they were thinking when they designed the Thornbird TSL. Really. At first glance the Thornbird looks extremely aggressive. It has one hell of a profile with the knarly 3 stage lugs jutting out of the sidewall like medieval spikes on a chariot wheel. But to call it a true mud tire would be misleading. Within our definition of a true mud tire, the primary tread that makes contact with the mud is the same tread that makes contact with the street surface. With the Thornbird TSL, this tread is more specifically designed as a street tire with very narrow voids between the large, siped lugs. These voids seem more designed to channel water rather than mud. Which may be fine for some people who really want a street tire that looks like a mud tire.

iv heard a lot of mixed reviews tho

thornbirds are a love'em or hate'em tire, no two ways about it

A cut thornbird, like this one, is said to do rather well.
