I took out the intake air muffler/baffle, and I like the sound. What else can I do? Can someone direct me to a list of things?

UPgraded injectors?

I'll be having a camper shell on the truck. Would rather not change the rear end, unless it just makes sense to do it.

At 70mph on the highway, in 5th gear, my tach is at 2800rpm. Don't think i want to go any faster than that, but want to have a little more power.

my 95 is rated at 100 hp @ 4600 rpm. I've never had it over 4000 rpm - i'd like to keep the engine around for a while.

What is the power band for my 2.3?

What is a 2.3T upgrade?

oh, turbo. can you direct me to a tech section?

PS

also, isn't there like an established procedure for this in the tech library? i would think that there would be stuff like that in the library. Usually the help i get here at the ranger station is from you guys, and your responses to my questions. seems the site ought to have some kind of search function that allows to find answers that were previously posted. just sayin.

thanks, i'll go there. maybe you could answer these brief questions for me? before I go there, i want to know the bottom line.

do i have a mass air 2.3L?

how much hp gain is there with a turbo

what kind of money will i need?

what happens to driveabiltiy, economy?
:icon_thumby:

id wait for someone to chime in, im not too familiar with the specs/prices of 2.3t swaps. it shouldnt get too expensive if you find an old turbo t-bird or mustang and just swap everything over.

but i do know that mileage tends to improve, an driveability doesnt ever seem to be an issue. beyond that idk lol

there is a search button, its under the trs banner at the top of the page, just takes a minute to find lol. its in the bar under your username.

PPS I'm reading the introduction post of this forum. it appears to be what I need, but I would like to know those 4 answers still, if you can help with that. thanks.

haha funny. i don't want to do a turbo install. not now. isn't there something quick that I can do in a day to tweak the power 10 or 20 horsepower? the turbo seems like something for offroading maybe. i'm just driving around like a sane old man (which I'm not), and want to continue that trend. The D&N filter? Or was that K&N? I don't know. Maybe I'll try that search thing again.

"Simple mods to improve 2.3 power" see what I get.

K&Ns really dont do anything for power like they say. umm i would just lurk in the 4 cylinder forum for awhile and see what people have been doing. i dont know much about 4 cylinders, im more of a big block guy lol

cam kit will go a long way http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRN-199501/ its a little pricy but its the first one i found rpm range 1500-4500 sounds about perfect for what your doing. if you get that a good cold air intake will help a bit too. a turbo swap will run yah about $500 to just drop a stock turbo motor in. if you rebuild the motor and do much performace stuff to it your looking at $750-1500. i love my turbo swap

$400. The lift is double what the stock lift is. I imagine the duration is greater, too, so the engine will breathe and function way better. Will I need to get all new lifters? Springs? Retainers? anything else?

I was thinking 19 lb per hiour jinjectors, and i like the cam idea if i can keep the price down. I normally don't even get close to 4000 rpm, but carrying 600 poounds the other day on mountain grades, i was using 3rd and 4th gears up to 4000rpm, to keep up with traffic. I probably wouldn't go beyond 4000 ever, especially if the en gine had a lttle more power.

i can do something to get some natural ram type air to a k&n filter set-up

is it true what flowmaster says, with their geibson exhaust system, there's a 15-20 hp gain over stock. that sounds like bs to me.

but, what are we talking with the cam, ram air, and some unrestriction of the exhaust? 25 hp increase? better response, more torque?

the exhaust claiming 15-20 over stock i think bs. more like 5-10. if i were you to keep cost down i would put a cone air filter on from like autozone(25), cam(400)i'm sure there is cheaper?, if your engine doesn't have a stock header get one from a junkyard(15-20), free flowing exhaust depends if you do or not(50-200) i like the cherry bomb cheap(20) but they r a bit loud, and some 19lb injectors from a 86-95 mustang5.0/91-93 thunderbird 5.0/ or a 91 courgar 5.0 <5 a peice, your computer will adapt but it sometimes takes up to 200 miles. i dont know what hp would be with this done but my guess at least 25-40. i wouldn't worry about ram air i don't think
