I was thinking about what would be good options for a v8 swap whenever either my 2.9l packs it in, or I can buy a donor vehicle for all the parts...
Im not 100% sold on a SAS or full-width axles, as trails are pretty narrow around here, it seems everyone has a hard-on for Heeps and Yota's... But its still an idea Im considering and haven't really decided on yet.
A d35/Explorer 8.8" is enough to handle the power of a v8 right?
So what vehicles do you suggest are good for such an application? The minimum requirements would be engine, tranny, and either a Tcase, or something that can be made to work with a stock tcase. A wiring harness would be advantageous as well. Axles could be good... Im not sure what other useful things a v8 donor vehicle could provide?
If I went full-width, I would want to go with something stronger than a d44 front end.
So what do you think? Whats a good truck, or car, for a donor vehicle to swap a v8 into a Bronco II?
