My belt squeal has always kind of been there but very quiet. But now its so loud I need to do something. I have checked all the pulleys and they seem ok. I even replaced the idler just cause. When I hit the belt with some water the sound goes away.

There doesnt seem to be any misalignment of the pulleys. So I slapped on a new belt, and well, the squeal went away mostly at idle. But now when I accelerate it squeals.

Trucks got 290k kms on the engine. I remember ppl saying the gatorback belt works well on these trucks. But I cant find it? Is it gone?

There has to be something causing the squeal other than belt or we'd all have it no?

I have either a Dayco or a Gates on mine.

You should change the belt tensioner when you change the belt. So, it could be that the spring in the tensioner is weak if you didn't change it when you did the belt.

Changing the idler pulley while you are there isn't a horrible idea either.
