Alignment shop says radius arm is bent, need new one (pulls to the right, chewing up my bran new BFG MT's). The gap between the Right Front tire and the bottom rear qtr panel is about 1" different (closer) than the left front. I am original owner, never wrecked, but maybe banged it up off roading recently. (no rocks, just mud {how hard is it to bend a raduis arm?} 1st step, second opinion. 2nd step (james duff extended Radius arms (forced upgrade). Is the gap between qtr panel and tire indication that the radius arm is bent?

Thanks for any help

I have an extra set you can have for $20 + shipping.....

The stock radius arm isn't all that hard to bend, espically if you hit it dead on the bottom

if you need/want a stock radius arm I got one, 5 bucks in my pocket and shipping. or 25 and Ill throw in a brand new set of r/a bushings.

may want to check it over and make sure the radius arm crossmember bracket is not bent also.

Does anything under there look bent when comparing the two sides visually? What about shocks/coils/swaybar links? Do they sit at different angles at all?

If the arm is bent, it'll probably have more inward swoop to it (look for spots where the paint is cracked or flaked off, too). The frame bracket could very well be bent as well, yes.

Nothing appears to be bent, but I think I need ball joints. Excessive play when I grab the tire at the top and bottom and move in and out. I replaced the ball joints 2 years ago with Moog, and one of them are bad already WTF. Could putting those Mud Tires on have anything to do with the ball joint going? I figured those Moog ball joints would last.
Looks like another weekend of playing grease monkey. This time, I'll be sure to put in new rotors.

may be wheel bearings.....and that is probably why it wouldn't align...

I had a similar prob in my BII, but it was my frame that was bent :icon_thumby:

Swaybar links are a good indicator that a beam is bent. They are short so they end up with alot of angle for a reliatively small amount of movement so they are really easy to compare visually.

It's definitely possible. I once tore a stock arm clean off of the driver's side.

Have a look at the pivot brackets and the radius arm mounts as well. If it's out an inch, it shouldn't be hard to find.
