So I just got a 1999 Ranger XTL 4x4. It was in an accident and the rear axle is bent, I want to replace it by going to a junkyard for a used one. What i'm wondering is if I should stick with the same Ratio, width, etc? Or would I have benefits by getting a different ratio or width? I just started learning about this so sorry if I don't have much knowledge to ask my questions off of. I would get an axle from an Explorer, but I don't have many resources or time to do an extensive or intricate upgrade.

Thanks

Moved this to the ranger axles section. If you are looking for the easiest swap get the same axle/ratio and it will bolt right in.

You cannot run a different ratio front and rear it will wreck things so you will definitely want to stay with the same ratio.

Okay. thank you. I will post on here if I have any other questions. I'm hoping this salvage yard will have the right one.
