Beefier A4LD Rebuild Kit

I read somewhere on here a while back that someone made a really GOOD rebuild kit for the A4LD. Can someone tell me what company that was? I need a better kit than the average kit out there.

I believe the 4.0l A4LD parts were "heavy duty".

There were some A4LD off-road parts that could be added in a rebuild.

OH kits are the same other than friction manufactures ( Raybestos,alto,Borg Warner, allomatic) there is no "heavy duty". The difference in 4.0 and others are number of pinion gears, and clutch count in drums. And some VB Spring calibrations you would never notice.. Also servo pistons are difrent sizes and difrent ratios on the apply arms.

If you want to organize something, I have a rebuild (soft kit) for the A4LD. I have it listed locally on Craigslist for the Syracuse area. That kit cost me $139 a few years ago, and it's been sitting under my work bench sense. Still "Sealed". I put it up for $100 or best offer.

You would still have to obtain the 'hard parts' as noted. Just doing the soft kit rebuild only lasts for about a year or so. Most of the transmission shops in my area that know the A4LD won't consider a rebuild unless they do a FULL rebuild. They got burnt a few times with customer returns they had to warranty until they figured out it needed more then just a few band aids on it.

I'll list later this weekend on the sale area of the forum the rebuild kit. I've no use for it. Shame to let it sit and collect dust.
