It might be easier/ cheaper/ better off to get a section of rubber mat and cut it to your bed. If I recall, the stepside bed is just a rectangle, no fender or fuel fillers to cut around.
other than that, keep an eye on local junkyards, Craigslist, or FB marketplace.
I went with this for my 2001 6ft bed. It's a pre-cut drainage matt made for the industrial kitchen industry. So far so good. It stays put and anything loaded on it does so also..i have it held down with some supper magnets around the perimeter, but I'm not even sure they are needed. Keep Rangering....
The one I've had in my '90 I got NIB at a Goodwill over 20 years ago for near nothing but I priced them recently since that one is degrading pretty good... turns out at the junkyard they pretty much consider that a floor mat so it's $5ish, I'd get a used one and cut to fit.
IIRC, BedRug used to make them for 83-11 Rangers but they discontinued those many years ago. I’d like one for my 2000, but they’re rare as hen’s teeth.
That said, if you want bed carpet, your best bet would be to find someone who does boat carpets and see if they will custom make you something. Someone good at doing stuff for boats can make something for a truck, just not all of them are good or willing and it’s not going to be cheap. But I know a guy and that’s the route I’m taking at some point.
Not sure what your goal or use requirements are, but we always used stable mat and cut them to fit. It is relatively tough stuff and takes time and patience to trim it. We used this material for all manner of stuff. Bonus is it's relatively inexpensive. Just remember, like anything else similar that you put in there (bed liners, etc), it'll trap water underneath and won't dry out as fast. That can lead to rust over the years if you leave it in there full time. So it's best to put the textured side down to leave a little air gap to allow water to dry up a lot faster.
