bed problems please help

hey guys and gals i have a question. before i go and by a bunch of tools, i was wondering what size the star tool is that fits the bed bolts of a 1986 ford ranger single cab long bed 4x4?

i belive it is a T-55 torx. been a while since ive messed with it so i could be wrong.

thanks and im just taking the bed off so it will be easier to change my leaky gas tank.

Soak those bed bolts with some PB Blaster a few days in advance.

in my 95 they were a T-55,


I broke the heads off 2 of 6, just a warning they all came out, but it was a fight...


Good luck, makes working on the tank alot easier... also while its off, inspect our leaf spring hangers... i know mine needed replacing and while the bed off is the time to do it...

Good idea.... Unless you want to put put the bed back on w/o paying $10 per bolt from ford.

ha i broke a torx bolt on my old truck i but a regular bolt and lock nut on it it was a 55head on my 92
