Bed extender modified

Well I had been wanting a bed extender for the my 99 Ranger. I have a 33x15 BFG A/T mounted in the center of the bed (flat style) and I found a brand new in the box Amp Research Westin silver bed extender for $25.00 in the Tampa area on craigslist. It was a parts dealer who had moved and the box had some water damage but not to the contents. Of course when I got it home and put it together I knew it was going to have to be modified so I cut 7 inches of the end tubes to make it fit with my tailgate up. It is a perfect fit and looks great. I hope these photos show up, if not I will have to go to another site and try it that way.

looks good man, you got a hell of a deal on it too! ive been looking for one for my gfs sposrt trac, but theyre still a little too expensive for me. maybe ill get lucky at the junk yard one of these days and find one that i can modify to fit.

I found mine at the Re-store a couple years back. Came from a 2001 Sport Trac, and I paid $25 for it. Keep an eye on the junkyards now that their getting the cash for clunker vehicles, the stuff is selling cheap.

Thanks, Bro. I hate to admit it but I have my uncle's 'got to drive around for the best deal on gas' syndrome. I have to wait until the right deal comes along. Sometimes it takes a while!!! lol
