Bearing siezure common?

Thanks for the help for all those that helped a Newb taking out my 95 b3000 2wd 5 spd tranny. I got up off my butt and took the top cover off.

The front bearing completley siezed. Sorry I dont haveea digital camera. So I'm going ot have to just get a good used replacement.

Is this common amungst these trannies? Maybe it was just low on fluid, and the bearing failed. I bought the car with the siezed tranny, so previous service is pretty unknown to me. But I got the car for $50!

Common, no, but anything is possible. I would say the shift rail plugs were leaking and it was run dry on fluid.

Was the top of the transmission damp with fluid?

There possibley was some leaking fluid from there. The car sat for a year before I got to work on it, so I cant see any real fresh fluid. There is a lil grease+dust,so there was some extent of fluid leaking from there, but im not sure how much exactly

Aaaaaah to bad.

I would give you my old one so you could at least get around for like $50 bucks but it won't fit cause it's out of a 2.3.
