My credo
If you're not making mistakes, you're not learning.
Been on the lookout for one, and I think I found a deal... but it really sounds too good to be true.

This puller/installer looks nearly IDENTICAL to the Yukon puller set. And it claims to do "DANA 30 44 60 70 80 FORD 10.25", 10.5" And I'm going to guess, many in between.

BUT, it's literally a full 1/2 price off the Yukon kit! ($199 compared to average of $399)

Hoping somebody in the field knows the site or knows the kit or something. I'm all for a good deal, but this just makes the little red light glow a bit much for my comfort. Am I justified?

Yep I got one. Its the exact same as the yukon, even made by the same company. It is a good buy, get it.

you obvioulsy dont know what that is used for.....if you can get CARRIER bearings off of a carrier with a slide hammer Ill buy you several cases of bubbly.

i.e. it is used to remove/install bearings in a diff, if you dont have a shop press or whatnot.

I have a press, the install part isn't the problem, it's the removal.

Ty for the feedback Nathan, I'm gonna have that ordered by the end of the week.

if you have a press why do you need this? all you need is a bearing splitter, and your GOLDEN.

trust me, it is MUCH easier to use a press.

A good 2 jaw puller can remove the carrier bearings as well. I used a crappy puller and was only able to remove 1, the other required grinding and chiseling. Sometimes the right tools can make all the difference!

I've found that particular type of splitter hard to use. Maybe because mine is cheap and chinese, or I wasn't using it right.

The press I have doesn't really allow me to push anything through it. I'd need to stack wood/cinderblocks/etc on either side, add bracing to support said splitter, and somehow catch the carrier as it fell, hopefully not knocking over anything else in the process. Pressing something on is a little easier, but I've yet to master getting things perfectly straight with assorted sockets without making a sailor blush. Did I mention it's wobbly?

Honestly, I think throwing this tool on it, nailing it with the impact gun while it's in my hands and resting on a nice flat bench where parts can at most fall a couple inches (onto wood or cardboard) is much more appealing.

oh yeah i forgot i bought a new carrier so i didnt have to remove anything :). and used the shop press to up them on. i thought you were talking about axle bearings

Whether its the bearing splitter or the yukon bearing removal tool, it is only as good as it is setup.

Hmm.. should have seen this comming. Went to order it today, now it's $219, still not too bad. And it's a different picture.

Dammit all, just my luck. Now I feel like I gotta look around a bit again.

UPDATE!

Well it arrived a while back, Will hopefully use it within a week or two on my 8.8".

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE YUKON PULLER!

Overall quality: OK
It seems beefy enough, and has quite the range of sizes.

First impressions:
It's ok for someone not doing installs on a regular basis, but I think it'll pay for itself if you use it a couple times.

Country of Origin: It's not Chinese, but it actually did ship straight from India.

Will update more after I actually use it.
