I am pretty sure that my right rear axle bearing is going. I can move the axle left/right slightly. I can feel almost hear a low growl while driving. I can also feel some slight vibration in the door and at speeds above 45 mph in the steering wheel. Checking the left side revealed it was much tighter.

I did repalce the front hubs with Timkin about 10,000 miles ago. The antilock brake sensors were bad. The hubs were almost the same price as just the sensors. Tires have less that 10K. U-joints are fine. I had the drive shaft rebalanced when I put new u-joints in.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by "left/right"... A small bit of in/out movement (end-play) of the rear axle shafts is normal (up to 1/8" or so). If you can move the flange UP/DOWN any significant amount though, then for sure you got a bearing issue.

I'd be inclined to think the issue is up front somewhere if you can feel it in the steering. If the bearings check out OK, it could be your tires.

Tires have less than 6K on them. Yes I can move the right rear up and down a bit, maybe 1/16 inch. Probably should replace it.

I am thinking it is one of the CV axle assemblies up from.

There are no cv axles or joints in the rear end. Nor in any rear that I can think of..

No kidding.

Maybe I need to be more explicit. I stated I could feel a vibration in the front. It is unlikely it would be from a rear wheel bearing. Therefore, I suspect a "front" CV axle assembly.
