Some are, some aren't....You can get an aluminum DOT approved bolt on beadlock but they're big $$$. The inner air locks don't have a DOT approval, but they don't need it as all the are essentially is an inner tube... just gotta drill a second valve stem hole in the rim.
My Ranger (87) has been a prerunner/chase rig nearly since new. I have owned it since 2000. I prerun, chase and have run some pretty serious Poker runs with it and in the last 11 years have never had a flat not caused by a puncture (one staple and one screw). I also don't plan to buy beadlock wheels for it when we race it. Only if we start having flats will I reconsider. In my opinion spend the money elsewhere.
