My credo
it is what it is
ive got a 96 ranger thats been built up to a halfton crawler. im planning to take it further...swapping powerplant trans dropping in tons etc. i bought a 302 a while back for the motor swap---scrapping that idea and putting that into my 91. ive got my eyes set on a 429BBF thats been bored stroked etc. ive searched the forums and articles about swapping in BB motors in rangers. my question i have relates to the fabbing that has to be done with the firewall and the additional cross members needed. how far back can the firewall be taken? also, what are the best locations for the additional cross members throughout the frame? i figure im going to have about 400+ hp/trq. also going to have a deep running drivetrain.

additional info: trans is np435, axles are built tons wih 538 or lower gears

i figure im going to have about 400+ hp/trq

a bone stock 1971 429 thunderjet ( thunderbird motor) made 360hp 480tq

and you have a stroker? expect alot more hp and torque than 400+
Figuring 1 hp per cubic inch. is easy to reach.
and build your frame to handle the stress of say 600+ Tq
