There are many options. I recently changed things up on my F 250. I bought battery clamps that just have a stud sticking up. Then you need cables that have a regular lug crimped on the end with the proper size hole for the stud. It's pretty easy to order cables like that on the internet. See photos below. Coating the connections with dielectric grease or battery terminal spray afterwards is important to prevent corrosion from getting into the connections and wire strands. I plan on reworking my Ranger battery connections the same way soon.

Another option is military style terminals. (good if your hood is real close to the terminals since they don't stick up quite as high)

A good way to keep corrosion at bay on a flooded-type battery is to pull off the caps and wrap each plug with a couple wraps of teflon pipe thread sealing tape. This stops the acid from seeping out under the caps, eventually making its way to the terminals and corroding them.
