if your driving down the road, and your alternator shits on itself, the battery will run out of power a few miles later and EVERYTHING WILL SHUT OFF.

Um, I've driven a good 50 miles on just the battery. That one was over 10 years old and had a blown cell too if I remember correctly. It didn't ever recover from that, but it sure did it.

Not only do they suddenly die they can go boom too, big baddda boom.

I've seen that too. That was scary. I thought someone was shooting at me!!
