Battery Cable Replacement

Im needing to replace mine and was wondering if i needed factory cables or if i could just use and upgraded cable. It looks like there are 3 wires on each cable and I dont know where they go or how they are connected. Im not sure if I could just use 1 large cable on both the - and + terminal.

sounds like the chances are good that if the battery cables are bad, so are the other wires connected to them. i'd just trace them all down and replace them as well. and it never hurts to go a little bigger and longer with all of them.
