Hello,

I already posted this else where, and I am sorry for the bombardment however I promised these folks that I would trash their good name and I must make good on my promise!!!

I just wanted to put this out there so nobody else gets screwed. I recently bought some AVM manual hubs for my 2000 ranger. My ranger was made in 3/2000 (which should of meant PV hubs) according to the door sticker. I was extremely surprised to find that i have live axles @#@#$$#@$!!!!!!

Baseline's website said that these hubs would work for a 98-01. according to the tech library and ford, PVH stopped production mid 2000!!!!!!!!!
GET IT RIGHT BASELINE!!!!! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!!!:pissedoff:

So I called Baseline hoping for a return. Well pop some popcorn and listen in. I spoke with some lady who claimed to be the owner(after I asked for a manager cause she was an idiot). I told her my predicament and she said oh well. She would take them back however she would not cover shipping costs!!!! :bsflag: I know that it would of only been like 20 bucks but i just ate 200:pissedoff: I would like to keep the losses low!!!!

I asked why she wouldn't cover costs, and she said that it was my fault that i didn't get the right ones!:pissedoff: I explained to her that i used her info of 98-01 to place the order she said that it was right! WTF i have a 2000 which is in the middle of 98-01 and IT IS NOT PVH HUBS, LIVE LOCK ONLY!!!!! which i tried to explain this to her and after i did, get this,
SHE TOLD ME THAT I DON'T HAVE A 2000 RANGER!!!!!

SHE LABLED HER WEBSITE WRONG AND IS NOW TRYING TO PASS THE MISTAKE OFF TO ME!!!!!!WTF!!!!:pissedoff::pissedoff: BITCH!!!!!!!

To make matters worse she said that my truck was "screwed up" and that i should talk to ford. Yeah FU lady!! She also said that she has these hubs on her 2001 ranger !!!!! BULLSHIT!!! if i have livelock axles on my 2000 what would she have on her 2001? LIVELOCKS!!!! She lied to me!!!!

Then she tried to tell me why don't i just sell them to somebody else so i won't have to cover shipping costs and FUC@#*&^ HUNG UP!!!:pissedoff::pissedoff::pissedoff::bsflag:

Wouldn't you have looked to make sure you had the correct axle before you ordered the hubs?

I never believe what it says on the website. They changed to live axle mid-2000 model year, so technically the site is not wrong.

I would send them back and chock it up to a lesson in life.

The site is wrong, no doubt about it, they only work for 98-00 Rangers equipped with the PVH 4x4 system. However, AVM doesn't even get the years right, and every site I've found usually screws up on this.

However, it's YOUR fault for not popping off the front hub caps and taking 2 seconds to determine what system your truck uses before ordering the hublocks. The fact that the owner is even willing to take them back is a good thing; get over the $20 and send them back.

FWIW $200 for the AVMs is a ripoff anyway. You can get a brand new set on eBay for $100 + shipping.

Yes it is. It says the hubs fit 2001 models. No 2001 Rangers left the factory with PV hubs.

Had they said 2000 year, someone with a mid 2000 year truck would think they didn't have PVH hubs. So it would still be wrong.

If they said mid-2000, someone with a truck built after 6-2000 would complain. Yes, it is misleading, but like I said, he should have looked to see what he had before he ordered.

His hubs have never failed to work obviously, since there are none.

The site is wrong, but march is mid year.....my 98 was made in 10/97

And yes, he should have looked at his truck.

And yes, you always end up eating the shipping costs. Get used to it.

I chuckled when I read this.

I made the same mistake (different vendor).

I had never "looked at" the center of the hub to be able to tell if I had the PVH or not.

I sold them to a Canadian member, he had me ship them to a store in the US, near the border.

I figured it was my own mistake. Of course, I waited a few months to get around to installing them, so returning them may have been dicey. I didn't even try.

I think you should return them, and be happy to pay the shipping. They'll credit you. But that business owner really should have offered to pay shipping since the website was wrong.

Certainly not worth spending another moment even thinking about, let alone being upset about. Very few poeple are going to pay that much for the AVMs anyway; no need to trash the business.

Fine, don't send them back. You can A) eat $20 on the shipping, OR B) eat $200 on the hubs.

Either way, you are at fault for not taking 2 minutes to check on compatibility for your truck. If checking meant a 2 hour tear down just to check, I would agree with you, but it wouldn't take that long to check (which you obviously didn't).

your fault, but they could have been nicer about it. If you aren't willing to pay shipping on returns don't shop online...

I agree that he should have looked before ordering, but the website should have the correct applications listed as well. Listing any vehicle that the hubs don't work on is more than misleading, it is wrong. All they have to do is say that the hubs work on 1998-2000 model trucks with the PVH system and have a disclaimer that many 2000 MY trucks have a live axle setup and to check with a dealer.

And the fact that whoever was on the phone said that they had AVM hubs installed on a 2001 means that they were lying, which is much worse than just being wrong.

This is your punishment for trying to fix something that was not broken.

Further, you ordered the friggin things. You should have known whether or not you needed them. According to NAPA, my pickup truck only had the 292 6-cylinder gas available for an engine. If I need a head gasket, I'm going to be glad I lifted the hood once to see that it's an 8-cylinder diesel. I wouldn't be insane enough to not know what I was ordering a part for. This post of yours in childish.

And after the years and years of whining everyone did because nobody made the manuals for the vacuum hubs--nobody is going to join your hate party. In fact, I remember a young man back in about 2003 that would have let those people sleep with his mother, sister and daughter to obtain a set of them.
