How should a baseball glove fit? I’ve always liked baseball, but never actually played except for fun. I’ve also never owned a glove, but I’ve worn a few before. Anyhow, my kids now have their own T ball gloves and I’d like to get one myself (baseball). I went to wal-mart the other day, trying them on. I tried a couple different brands, adult size between 11”-12” (largest I could find is 12”). However I had a heck of a time getting them on and when I could, they just didn’t feel right. Kinda felt like I was trying to wear my wifes gloves, a couple sizes to small. Unfortunately, there really isn’t a sports store in town other than Dunhams, which usually the only people I’ve seen working there are teenage girls chewing gum…..so I doubt I could ask them about it. I really don’t have huge hands, I wear an adult size large~ glove. But I don’t imagine it would be that much work putting a glove on and getting it comfortable. Any advice? thanx!

I say go to Dunhams and hit on the girls while you try on gloves. Make a day out of it. You know, leave the wife and kids at home kind of deal.

It should go on and come off nice and easy like you think. I have a Nike mit and love it. I would have bought a ADIDAS mit but they do not make any.

I have a Wilson and a Rawlings. I like the Rawlings better. Its mainly personal preference. I spent about 30 bucks on mine. It all depends on how much u have to spend and how often u'll use it.

use would be just for catch. I'm not planning on actually playing baseball, unless its at a friends 4th of July game where beer is more important than the game itself. Usually by the time they start playing, everyone can barely stand.........rednecks:beer:

Instead of going to ,"Wallys-World"
Go to a reputable Sporting good place and if they are any goof they will be able to guide you properly. They will have a $ range and more sizes on hand most likely so your choice will be better all around.

Ron V :) :) :)

If you have an Academy, Hibbetts or Dick's close to you they will have a better selection of gloves than Wally World. Most gloves are adjustable so if you find one that you like and it is tight on your hand you can loosen it up some. Also, baseball gloves are going to feel a little snug until you break them in. I would also recommend that you spend a little more and get a quality glove that will last some years. My son is 15 and plays on the high school baseball team. He has been playing since he was 4 and we still enjoy quality time together just playing catch in the yard and talking.

As I've mentioned already........

I kinda knew/figured that they would fit snug at first then break in over time.

I've always used Mizuno baseball gloves. I like the way they feel over the other brands, especially after it's broken in.

I have been playing baseball, fastpitch, slowpitch for about 30 years. I have a bag full of gloves ranging from first base mitts to catchers mitts. I personally prefer Rawlings gloves. Now days you can get gloves that are pretty much broken in when you buy them. I know my last one was. I do agree that you should go to a reputable sports store. They should have good selection to choose from.

thanx for the help. I picked up a $20 wilson 11" glove. All I needed for what I'll be using it for. Most the other ones I could even get my hand into. That was pretty much the only one that seemed to fit right (and didnt cost over $30). I mostly didn't know what the size meant. I originally thought it had something to do with hand size, but while looking yesterday, I noticed that it probably means glove length.
