Hello,

I am drawing st straws now with a problem i am having with one of my rangers, it is a 98, 3.0 5 speed

Problem is misfire on cyl 5, cylinder has compression, spark, but no fuel. injector does not fire

I first replaced the injector, which did nothing

then tried a noid light, and sure enough no fire

checked all wiring, i get the 12 volts through the injector all the way back to the PCM

What i do not get is the ground trigger the pcm is supposed to put out to fire the injector.

I have tried 3 different computers, i cant believe i have 3 computers with bad injector 5 drivers..

I replaced both the cam and crank sensors

Pulling my hair out, does anyone have any ideas why this could happen? if so please help :)

I'm sure you did, but you didn't specifically mention it. So, did you actually check the ground wire for that injector?

I'd probably pull the computer and install a bulb (Kinda small, like a tailight.) on the circuit and feed it power and ground from the computer connector pins. That way you're absolutely certain you have a complete circuit. This should be enough of a load to tell if the wire is hanging on by just one fiber.

Be careful doing so though. It'd be very easy to slip and feed 12v to the wrong circuit that way..

Are the pins pushed all the way in on the connector at the computer and at the injector haveing the same problem with three computers is pretty much impossible my guess it is the pin for that injector is not making contact at the computer if your getting power to it with the key on. Can you push the pin all the way in with a jewelers screwdriver after you install the connector at the computer?

^Good advice.^
