i have a 2004 ford ranger Edge. with a 3.0L. i am looking to get a little more out of it. i have a few things in mind but also looking for advise and a few pointers.

Sell it and get a 4.0L or do a motor swap to a 4.0 or 5.0L. There's not a whole lot for the 3.0L. There are numerous threads on this, you should be able to find some more answers.

A K&N cold air system is a good place to start. Then you can look at electronic enhancements if you don't want to go into turbos or other power adding methods. I have seen the bolt on turbo systems that mount under the truck and they loom like a great way to make reasonably priced power.

The 3.0 already has a stock cold air system. There is no gain by adding an aftermarket one except filling K&N's wallet.

+1

intake and exhaust systems are a waste of money unless you want to make noise.

a programmer, underdrive pullies, and new gearing are your best bets for noticeable improvements. besides that learn how to drive a winder like the 3.0. it needs RPMs to scoot.
