OK, I've used this site for tech info long enough - time to step up & become a member. I already owe site contributors a debt of gratitude for the article explaining how to troubleshoot a non-working '88 electric transfer case. Yep, it was that little nylon stop on the motor gearbox that had busted & let the contacts advance too far. A simple fix IF you know what to look for - thanks again fellows.
Like the title says, I'm in Alabama close to Huntsville, the "Rocket" city, home of NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center, Space Camp, the Army Missle Command & about a zillion defense contractors. The economy is roaring (pun intended).
My little '88 Supercab Ranger 4x4 is used mostly around home & on the farm, no long trips with 4 L 10 gears. It's a little odd with dual tanks, leather seats, vent windows & push out side windows. Otherwise it's a mostly stock used, but not abused, daily driver.
Me personally: Retired from coal mining & road building. Now maybe now I'll have a little time to tweak the drive train & suspension just a little......
