I was watchin the show TRUCKS! on Spike TV back when it was about the build, not about the show, when Stacey David was the real host not some jacked-up maniac who smoked too much. Anyways, they did a Ranger build with Baja Fender Replacements. i think it might have been a '96 model, i'm not sure, way too long ago but i was wondering if anyone had any info on these fenders. I have a 2000 4x4 extended cab Ranger and was lookin for these fenders. I want to run bigger tires without the suspension life (jacked up torsion bars don't work too good on the thruway, neither do 38 swampers, but it's just for the shock factor) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think a company called camburg sells some. Im not sure if they manufacture them though.

Glassworks Unlimited are what I have. Good quality and they can withstand a little beating....

Camburg actually gets there fiberglass from out of house, from the companies that I am listing here. There are several companies to choose from.

Glassworks Unlimited and Hanneman are known to have the best quality, and the best (highest) price tag. Then there is Fiberwerx (what I have on my 97) and chad mcneil racing, plus a bunch of even smaller companies that make them.

Quality wise, all of the above are all about the same, fitment wise, the first two seem to do just a little bit better, but I like my Fiberwerx and it took very little work to make them look nice. Google Glassworks Unlimited or Fiberwerx to find the coolest looking fiberglass for your ranger though.

i have that episode on tape somewhere. i can skim through it and see if they mention what brand name. i remember on the same show there was a black and blue ranchero with a mustang II front suspension that made like 500hp. its almost like the show was tailored to the ford crowd....

i had a set for a while and i bought them off of ebay. i cant remeber the name brand but they were made in Tijuana. they looked pretty good(3.5" bulge, 3.5"raise) and they never cracked either. i got rid of them cuz i didnt like the baja look on a 4 wheel drive.

N e way, they were the cheapest i could find and i know they still sell them on ebay.

Thanks for all the info guys, i just hope i can find something for my particular Ranger, any other info would be great, but thanks again!

Been there and done all that stuff before that trucks episode even aired. Are you planning to do front and rear or just front? I bought mine from McNeil (Perry's Fab n Fiber). They are a 6in flare and 6in cut out. I'm pleased with them, I've rubbed trees and so on with no breaking. The fronts are easy to put on, remove old fender, clamp new on, drill holes to match factory and attach. The bedsides are a different story. You need to drill and cut the old bedsides off then you will be able to bolt the fiberglass ones on. There are a lot more places offering fenders and bedsides now with prices differing by hundereds for dollars.

Here's my 95. They are Fiberwerx Fenders and bedsides each 4" flare and 3" raise/cutout. I actually had a worse time getting the fronts installed than the bedsides, but dont' take that as it was a near impossible task, it was merely time consuming and frustrating getting everything to line up and look correct. Overall at first I wasn't impressed, however, looking back at it, it was my own fault for feeling that way. I'm impressed overall with everything about the fenders and bedsides now, and do not regret buying them at all. Only complaint thusfar is I had an air bubble under the gel-coat on the drivers side above and in front of the filler door crack open and the piece of gelcoat/paint came off, exposing raw fiberglass/resin behind it in a spot about 1/2" around. Nothing major, however, I have had a deer run into the side of my bed one night and it didn't hurt them at all, just a light scrape in the paint was all. Here's a few pics from my cardomain site.
