This happend about two Fridays ago.
Ok,,,,so I got a video camera (JVC HD pocket cam) and my cell phone camera 3.0 mp that takes realy great shots. We see three really bad wrecks during the worst rain in awhile. I get my cameras out and ready and start to shoot this huge lifted white Ford van towing a nice sized camper that is smashed up against a guard rail and people running all over the median trying to help the people out of the van and camper (driving with people in the camper???). Smoke is coming out of the van. I changed my mind. I am about 10 feet away slowed down and just thought 'NO"!!! Later we see 5 cars piled up and there is a small fire coming out of this Yellow Charger (who was racing himself on the highway no doubt). I don't shoot any footage.
Then, the last one we see is this stupid idiot who I see in the rear view mirror behind us coming up at over 90+ in the pouring rain and cutting in and out of traffic as if he was Steve Mcqueen in Le Mans. Man!!! I say to my wife and a my best buddy to ' hold on there is going to be a crash here around this tight exit turn '!!! We are doing about 35 mph around this two lane exit off of I4 and the idiot in the black Infinity comes by us at about 80 mph (he slowed down a bit) and just glides over to the grass median on the right of the highway and then flips over and rolls about 10 times!!!! We stopped and I got out the JVC camera and was going to record the guy smashing, but once again I changed my mind. Somebody got shot out of the car and the driver's head is bobbing in and out of the window and he has dirt, grass and mud from the median on his face and head as he is flipped over and over again. A few cars ahead of us are stopped and people are running over to the car to help (or try) and I have the JVC ready to record the aftermath.....but I don't.
I guess I have softened my heart in my older age now. Years ago I would have filmed this kind of stuff and I did. At road race tracks, drag races, and while in the military I took photos and vids of really gross deaths!!! The calm after the storm...lol
