My 1994 2.3 5spd has a BAD vibration whenever I let off the accelerator in any gear. If I push in the clutch, it doesn't seem to do it. Has anyone else had this problem? Im assuming it has something to do with the rear axle

Welcome to TRS

U-joints certainly are a possibility here, but so is a loose rear pinion yoke, also the rear driveshaft center carrier bearing.
Is the vibration more like a humming/buzzing, grinding, or shaking vibration? (or some combination of those?)
Have you gotten under there and looked at things yet?

Its more of a shudder I guess. It feels like something is binding up. I have gotten underneath and everything seems tight. I do also have an ABS and Ebrake light that comes on when I hit the brakes, and doesn't turn off again until I start to accelerate away from a full stop

Update: Its the carrier bearing. Completely gone. The dust shield had been separated for a while now and it must've finally let loose. Thanks everyone for your help!

Good opportunity to go single piece.

Installing the new carrier bearing, and there is this metal dust shield that is just loose on the bearing. I thought when I torque down the nut it would cinch up. It did not. Is it ok to just leave it loose or do I need to take the bearing back off?

This is what it looks like
