+1 on the Rest in Peace... while I never knew him personally, I know I speak on behalf of my country AND fellow TRS members when I say you served well and gone done us all proud.

I say the banner to his mother is a great idea. Even if we have to mail it across Canada (quite a few blank spots I think...) it would be a very nice gesture to have all/most of our Canadian members on there as well.

Firsr off, I don't think giving the banner to his mother is appropriate. He had limited association with TRS and who knows if she would even understand what the hell we were sending her.

I've been looking around a little and the family requested donations to the Military Families Fund. We should figure out what that is and present a contribution in Andrew's name either individually or collectively through TRS.

Good call on that one, Will.

it always makes my heart drop when i hear of the sacrifices these people make to help promote stability and peace in a tumultuous area of the world, where ever they may be from.whether it is a neibour, countryman,or someone from a land we may never visit, they are all people with dreams and hopes for the future(and often they are parents to young children too)that they will never be able to realise.also, too often we overlook those that are wounded-thinking of "wounded" as being like a scrape or a cut that will heal.most are coming home missing legs or arms,or have traumatic brain injuries that will alter their lives forever.let's hope this mess can be resolved soon, and let people get back to living life.

I pray for his family, and the family of his fellow officers as well.

If there is one thing I have learned about life, a parent should never have to bury their own children.

+1 on the idea Will

+2 on Wills idea.

Jim could you set up something through the TRS store or something where any member who wish to donate can and then you could take that all and send it in as a on behalf of TRS and its members?

Will, I was going to donate through that link, but it will only take a Canadian address. I was going to recommend that link in lieu of collecting money.

I'll have to figure something else out.

How about we just have a Canadian moderator handle it? We could donate through TRS and then you deduct the PayPal fees and then pay him? Just make a note that you will be deducting those fees so people know.

I would be more than willing to handle that if needed.
