Hey Guys, I work for MasterCraft Saftey and as many of you might know we make proformance off road seats. They are very nice seats for many applications, I was going to replace my 60/40 bench seat with 2 Baja RS's witch is our premo luxary seat. As I was removing the factory seats I quickly noticed that this wasn't going to be an easy project, there are so many safety devices in the new Rangers that I couldn't put new seats in. There is 20 pin connector for just the air bag system alone and a co2 cartridge for some type safety devise. It seems that the whole air bag system is run off the seats. Our mounts still fit the floor and put the seats at prefect height but i am not gonna risk not have air bags, and seat belt clips are hard mounted to the seat also. Let me know if you guys have any ideas on how i could bypass this.

Rip open your seats and nab the stuff?

Edit: on a side note I F*#KIN HATE that seatbelt crapola, its the stupidest thing, i think its there to judge wheather or not to deploy passanger airbags because of weight and if your wearing your belt and stuff. The bags gonna go off and even if only one does you still have to replace both, and if your not wearing your seat belt well too bad, you probably won't be in any shape to put it on if you get in bad enough where the airbags go off anyways. my dads saturn has it... dings at everything! so annoying....

Why would you have to replace both airbags if only one goes off?? If only one goes off, then the other is still good...

On my mom's Mazda 3, it senses whether there is weight in the passenger's seat, and it will determine if the airbag needs to go off or not.

Because when the airbag goes off the computer fries and you will need a new one and when you get a new computer you have to get airbags set up for that specific computer. Maybe newer cars you can just replace one airbag and the computer... I was always told you have to replace both airbags even if one goes off. The only reason they turn the airbag off is for like baby seats and stuff, if your bag goes off with the child seat there you can say bye bye baby, or if you have other stuff in the front seat that probably you don't want hit with an airbag.

I guess you only need to replace the ones that go off and the computer... And apparently the seatbelts that locked up because they will no longer extend or retract.

ya the belts have small charges in the bottom that go off with the air bags, the belt pops and pulls you tight into the seat..thats why when cars with airbags are in accedents and the bags go off, most often then not they write the car off.. because it is so f'n expensive to replace them..
