bad fuel milage


wr250rdr,i replaced 02 sensors myself,i do get white smoke not black smoke out of tail pipe.i did not know there are different ones.they all look the same to me.codes are1132 and 1152.which one is which.i have 02 sensor in left exhaust manifold and 1 after catylac converter and 1 in right exhaust tube by firewall.can you tell me which is which
 
The two that are pre cat are the upstream. The one post cat is a catalyst measuring device, I would verify on your receipt what part number was sold to you just to be sure you have the right ones and if you think that you swapped them its a pretty simple trial pull the down stream sensor and swap it with the bank 2 sensor and see if that takes care of your issue. And you are right visually they are identical they are just designed to measure different things

Also white smoke is never a good thing. A little on start up is ok because there is condensation in the pipes that gets burned off and creates steam. But if it gets warm and you still get white smoke you have a semi serious issue of a blown head gasket.

i replaced 02 sensors myself,how do you tell which one is upstream and which is downstream.i have 1 in each exhaust pipes and 1 after catylac converter.
 
sorry aboutt repost of the same question,the only time i get the white smoke is on first starting then it clears up.i take it bank 2 is the 1 on drivers side down tube
 
Ok then no worries about the smoke then. As for the bank question. Check your firing order, bank 2 will be the 2,4,6 bank. Idk about the 3.0 but it might be in the tech library if you don't have a Haynes manual
 
wr250,firing order is 123 on passenger side 456 on drivers side,this help you out,or would you think like i am that driver side is bank 2.
 
wr 250 i found the firing order in ehow.com an thats how they got the firing order,im sure coil pack where plu wires hook into is different,but thanks for helping me out where bank 2 is,ehow dont show me the location of bank 2 keeps showing me bank 1
so what youe telling me is take bank 2 and swap it with the 02 after catylic converter if im understanding you correctly
 
Ya that will tell if you have the wrong sensors in the wrong spots. I just checked my Haynes Manuel an your firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6. So the second bank of cylinders is 2-4-6.
 
you still telling me bank 2 drivers side right
 
did you clear the check engine light? don't even bother calculating your fuel milage until you clear the cel.

check the codes, make note of them then clear / reset them.

go for a drive down the highway and check them again. you may need to turn the truck on and off a couple of times to pick up the new codes.

once you get the correct codes, make note of them and report back here with what the code is and its meaning.
 
captaingeek,i have the codes that pop up all the time,the codes are 1132 and 1152,which keep telling me bank 2 upstream running rich,i replaced all3 02 sensors,egr valve and dpfe sensor,fuel filter,and 4 vacuum lines and these codes keep throwing check engine light on.wr250 been trying to help me out also
 
well i took 02 sensor out between cats and reversed it with the bank 2 02 sensor,now i have to run truck to see if check engine light comes on
 
Make sure you clear the codes before you run it. If you don't have your buddies code scanner. Pull off the negative side battery cable. I have been told 5 minutes works but I usually leave it for 15
