I just bought a bronco 2, not running it has all new fuel lines and filter, but it wont run. I noticed today the ''p o'' put the fuel filter on backwords, would this cause these problems. It will start some times and run but only idle super low even if you hold the pedal on the floor. Please help thanks

I didn't think there was a way to put the fuel filter on backwards. Both ends are basically the same, if I'm not mistaken.

I have a new filter sitting on my bench that has an arrow on it showing which way it flows.

Would it stop the truck from running if installed backwards? I doubt it. There is no check valve in the filter that I know of (I can "blow" through both ways)

Generally speaking, the end of the filter with the "rolled" seam goes to the front.

And yes, both end ARE the same.........

I switched it around and it still acts the same, I put some starting fluid in the intake and it still wont start so. I checked the spark, at the #3 plug wire and nuthing, so I hooked a spark plug up the the wire coming from the coil and it sparked like crazy, so It must be..

A. cap/rotor
B. spark plug wires
C. spark plugs
D. timing

RIGHT ?????

timing has no bearing on spark coming through the wire, it has a bearing on whether your engine runs well or not at all. Might as well just put a cap and rotor+ plugs and wires on if they haven't been done in a while.

that fuel filter has a one way flow set-up... once broken, it won't run the same... go get a new filter and install it properly, then if that doesn't fix it... it's a problem elsewhere.
