Cliff notes: had some rangers before, sold them, got this new ranger and am back on the forum.
............

Hey ladies and gents. Couldn't help myself any longer and picked up a pretty minty 04. Long ago, I started out in a 97 2.3 manual 2x4 regular cab, then a 93 4.0 manual 4x4 extended cab. I took what I liked from those and now have what I believe is how I would have ordered a brand new one back in 04. Its got 4x4, 4.0, manual trans, power locks and windows, rear doors, and its dark gray with an FX4 trim level.

My plans are to (finally) install all the audio upgrades I had originally purchased for the 97. Also, my idea is for this to be an overlanding rig so some off-road upgrades will come eventually as well. Nothing insane for now, but I would like very much to build a ranger prerunner some day. Probably would do that in a different truck though.

Anyways, hi, I've returned.

Let's see if I can remember how to post some pictures.

Very nice truck! Very nice landscape!

That's a good looking truck... will be watching to see where you go with it.

Great looking truck. Hope it serves you well.

That is a nice one Sooper :)

Thanks everybody! The first order of business is some seat covers that are on the way from coverking to protect from all the camping and riding trips I plan to do. Should be here this week I hope, and I'll get some pictures up when they arrive.

I noticed a lot, and I mean a lot of Fx4 rangers for sale in Georgia. Weird though...always wanted to own an fx4 ranger or one of those tremor rangers with a factory sub and aftermarket head unit some day. Nice rig though just surprised how clean it looks. Hope to see more on your build plans.

I've had a set of coverking covers on my wish list for what seems like ever. I just can't seem to pull the trigger. I would be really curious to see the fit/finish with them installed and your opinions on the quality.

I should have an answer for you pretty soon sir.

From the VERY few pictures of them I was able to find (in a ranger), they looked like they were installed just moments before the image was captured, so there looked to be lots of wrinkles and such. I haven't decided on if or what measures I might take to solve that but if I don't, I imagine they will go away with warmer temperatures on their way. The looks won't be of huge concern for me but I will let you know what I think from that perspective.

Either way, I'll be sure to do an initial impressions post that I'll update down the road with a review.
