my 02 ranger is starting to drag its ass a little big
any suggestions? i thought about 'add a leaf' but couldnt i just crank torsion bars?
bare with me I know next to nothing, but i am learning with your help!
thanks,
dave

The torsion bars are for the front suspension.

You can add a small block to the rear suspension to get a few inches. This block goes in between the axle and the leaf springs. I would not add a block if you have one stock. You can also get shackles to lift the rear a few inches. They mount the back of the spring to the frame.

Have you replaced your shocks yet? They could be worn out, new ones may help correct the problem.

I agree, an add-a-leaf or the Belltech 6400 shackles will probably help you out.

Shocks shouldn't effect ride height.

I would grab some Explorer springs, may get you a little lift but they are also stronger and less likely to flatten out.

Actually, I've noticed my rear shocks to be somewhat air-charged, as they push themselves out to full extension, and it takes force to hold them in a stationary position.

They do have some springyness to them, but you can usually hold them back with your hands... there isn't enough there to hold up the back end of your pickup.
