Hi all, me again. Noticed a clicking noise the other night coming from hood, took a look and saw a spark popping form HT lead near plug onto the block. My first instinct is to change the plug or lead, but wanted to check here first in case anyone has ever had a similar problem or can ididentify this right away. Anyone seen this before?

Spark plug is cracked or Wire is, as you surmised.

Nothing specific to 2.5l, can happen to any gasoline engine

Thanks Ron! I had some plugs in the garage and thought I would swap it out this morning. As I was pulling the cap off the plug, the cap broke and the part that was left on the plug was cracked as well. So, looks like it was just worn out wire. I went ahead and gapped and replaced the plug (which looked awful) and replaced the wire (thankfully it was the easiest to get to), started truck up and it seems to run fine. Quick drive around the neighborhood without any issues and no sparking noise. Hopefully that did it! Thanks for your help.

Brian
