I have read some of the threads on seat replacements for b2.

Forgive me if this is a silly question.

But, can someone tell me which make/model/yr that my husband and I can pilfer seats from at the yard? (Preferably something I don't have to modify) I would love to put new seats in so I can drive the damn thing!

Thanks in advance .:D

I put bucket seats from a 93 explorer i my B2. All I had to do was take the brackets off the explorer and put the B2 ones on then bolt them in. Here they are in my B2.

"Explorer seats will work."

The lower, sliding frames of pre-'95, Explorers are about identical to B2 seats. I put, Explorer seats into my B2 early on in my ownership. The backs are higher and it saved, my wife's neck in a rear end collision, one week after install.

On some of the explorer seats the frames are stamped bronco ii, I got a set of blue leather seats from an explorer 1st gen I forget the year, but they were marked for a bronco ii lol.

And I agree 100% with djhitz on the seat backs being higher and better for safety, they're the way to go... And if you're lucky enough to find one with power lumbar support, they'll inflate and make long road trips easier on the back.

The Explorer tracks didn't fit in my B2. Maybe because it's an 84?

On the passenger side I exchanged the original sliders for a set from an '87 ranger. I like that a lot better than having the seat pop up, I think there is more room to access the back too.
IIRC there was some minor drilling and tapping to do.

I happend to notice that the Mazada Navaho, a rebadged Sport, interiors were black and I never saw an Explorer or Sport with black interiors. ANyway I put in seats from a 93 Navaho that bolted right into my 87 Bii, no mods of any kind needed. And I too have seen explorers with Bronco II stamped on them, guess Ford doesn't like leftovers either.... I have my 87 loaned out right now so I can't take a pic of the seats.
